Why your iPhone Live Activity keeps ending

A Live Activity can update for up to eight hours. iOS then ends it and removes it from Dynamic Island. It may remain on the Lock Screen for up to four additional hours unless you dismiss it sooner.

Visible does not always mean active

After the activity ends, a card can remain visible without continuing to update. That is different from a currently running countdown. Check the displayed time and the app before assuming an old card is still current.

What Nudge Monster does

Nudge Monster uses a push service to arrange a replacement countdown when iOS ends one. A replacement is a new Live Activity, and there can be a gap before it appears. Keep Live Activities enabled and your phone connected for remotely started countdowns.

The service uses device delivery tokens, random identifiers, scheduling times, and technical delivery records. It does not need your reminder text or contact details to deliver the countdown.

Check these before changing the reminder

1. Confirm Live Activities are enabled for Nudge Monster in iPhone Settings.
2. Check the reminder’s date and countdown setting.
3. Check connectivity while waiting for a remotely started countdown.
4. Check whether another countdown already uses your plan’s available capacity.
5. Try a new, harmless reminder a few minutes ahead.

If a countdown disappears after you dismiss it, do not assume it will return at a fixed interval. System behavior and the app’s current state affect what happens next. Report the exact sequence if it differs from the behavior you expected.

Use the right reminder for the moment

A countdown is useful when you look at your phone. If you also want an audible interruption, set and test Monster mode separately. A visible countdown does not confirm that alarm permission is enabled.
