Nudge Monster is a reminder app for people who swipe reminders away and forget them anyway. Instead of another notification in a stack, it puts a live countdown on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island as a deadline approaches — and it starts on its own, even if the app is closed. When something really can't be missed, Monster mode fires a real system alarm that rings through silent mode and Focus until you deal with it.
It also reads birthdays from Contacts, warns you the night before, and suggests gifts a fortnight ahead. Task names never leave your phone.

What makes it different · two things

As a deadline approaches, the reminder becomes a Live Activity — a running countdown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. It is not buried in a list you have to open, and it does not depend on you catching a banner. The Live Activity starts itself through a push-to-start notification even when the app has been closed for days, and re-arms after iOS retires it.

Monster mode uses AlarmKit to fire a genuine system alarm. It rings through silent mode, through Focus, and through Do Not Disturb, and keeps ringing until the task is dealt with — the same treatment iOS gives a wake-up alarm, applied to whatever you decided actually matters.
Everything else · feature list
Pulls birthdays straight out of Contacts. Warns you the night before so you can send a message at midnight, and offers a gift reminder a fortnight ahead — when there is still time to actually buy something.
Everything you ignored, kept in one place. It is the honest counterpart to the on-time stats, and the reason the app is called what it is.

What leaves the phone · almost nothing
Nudge Monster is built so that none of that is ever sent anywhere. Waking a Live Activity requires a push, and that push carries an anonymous identifier and two timestamps. Nothing else.
Why I built it · in Avinash's words
I missed my sister's birthday this year. That is the part I still think about — I had spoken to her the day before, and we had talked about her birthday in that call. I knew. It just wasn't in my head on the morning it mattered, and by the time it came back to me the day was gone.
That is the whole problem, and it isn't a memory problem. Reminders don't fail because you didn't know. They fail because knowing something on Tuesday and remembering it on Wednesday are two different things, and a notification you swipe away at nine in the morning is not going to help you at six in the evening.
Our memory is short. Fine. But that shouldn't be the reason someone close to you doesn't hear from you on their day. So I built the reminder that stays on the screen, and the alarm that won't let you swipe it away.
Reminders don't fail because you didn't know.
